PLOFLON® PTFE in research - reliability for experimental applications

PLOFLON® PTFE - a material with stable properties
PTFE is largely chemically inert, temperature-resistant and non-sticky. These properties make it particularly interesting for experimental use. In reaction apparatus, test benches or test systems, it is important that materials do not react with media or change their shape due to temperature fluctuations.
The high dielectric strength of PTFE also plays a role in physical test set-ups or electrotechnical test procedures. The material remains stable even after prolonged exposure to aggressive substances, radiation or pressure.
Applications in chemical and physical laboratories
PTFE products from PLOFLON® are frequently used as linings, separating films or seals in laboratory equipment. In reactors or distillation apparatus, they protect glass or metal parts from chemical attack. PLOFLON® PTFE also proves its worth in vacuum or high-temperature tests thanks to its dimensional stability and low surface energy.
PLOFLON® PTFE films are easy to cut or punch and can be used as temporary protective layers or permanent fixtures. Adhesive films with heat-resistant silicone adhesive adhere permanently, but can be removed without leaving any residue if necessary - an advantage when changing experimental set-ups.
Electrical insulation in test systems
PLOFLON® PTFE is used as an insulating material in many physical and electrotechnical applications. Due to its high dielectric strength and good thermal properties, the material is suitable for test stands, sensor housings or measuring equipment.
PLOFLON® PTFE films are also used in the manufacture of test carriers, capacitor assemblies or PCB prototypes. They offer reliable separation of signal and current paths without losing flexibility in the design.
Special parts for customised research setups
Many scientific institutions work with experimental set-ups that cannot be reproduced with series products. PLOFLON® therefore manufactures PTFE components according to individual specifications - such as brackets, spacers, sealing surfaces or housing parts.
These parts can be realised according to drawings. This also allows requirements such as compressive strength, conductivity or dimensional accuracy to be specifically influenced.
Flexibility for small quantities
Research facilities often do not work in series, but in individual assemblies or small quantities. PLOFLON® is set up for this. Even small quantities or prototypes can be produced economically without long lead times or minimum quantities.
In-house production enables close coordination - both technically and in terms of time. This is particularly advantageous for short-term projects or highly complex test series.
