High-performance adhesive tapes made of PTFE - robust, durable, precise

PLOFLON® PTFE adhesive tape is a specialised material for industrial use, manufactured on the basis of polytetrafluoroethylene. Depending on the version, the PTFE is laminated onto glass fabric or processed as a pure film. The surface is extremely smooth, has excellent non-stick properties and is virtually chemically inert. Due to these properties, PLOFLON® tapes are used in process engineering, mechanical and plant engineering and packaging technology where thermal, mechanical and chemical stresses occur.

The adhesive side is coated with heat-resistant high-performance adhesives. As a rule, silicone adhesive is used, which can withstand temperatures of up to +260 °C in the long term. Variants with acrylic adhesive are also available for applications involving mechanical stress at moderate temperatures. Depending on the adhesive, the temperature range extends from -73 °C to +260 °C, which enables use in thermally demanding environments.

Versatile applications in the industrial environment

Typical applications can be found in thermal separation processes, on heating plates or as a sliding layer on chutes, conveyor belts and conveyor systems. PTFE adhesive tape is also indispensable in food processing, plastics processing and the chemical industry - wherever material adhesion must be avoided and media resistance ensured.

In the packaging industry, it is used as a protective layer on sealing tools, where its non-stick effect reduces the formation of adhesions and extends the service life of the tools. In machines with a high number of cycles, the fabric carrier material offers additional mechanical stability without restricting flexibility.

Variants for special requirements

PLOFLON® not only offers standard solutions. Modified versions are also available for special technical requirements. These include antistatic tapes for electrostatically sensitive environments and metallised PTFE adhesive tapes with aluminium foil, which are detectable and suitable for sensitive production areas, e.g. in the food industry.

Zone tapes with a partially exposed PTFE zone enable targeted applications on contact surfaces without adhesive transfer. Special dimensions and contour-cut shapes are also available on request.
